We are seeking a highly skilled Admissions Coordinator to join our team at Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the admissions process, maintaining accurate statistical data, and ensuring seamless patient transitions.
Key Responsibilities- Admissions Process Leadership
- Oversee the admissions office process in IRF sites
- Maintain up-to-date statistical data in computer information systems within established time frames
- Referral Documentation and Filing
- Ensure completion of all referral documentation and maintain filing systems
- Census and Referral Management
- Maintain, post, and distribute an accurate census and referral information to administration and hospital staff on a daily basis
- Data Entry and Patient Communication
- Maintain systems and processes for timely data-entry of pre-admit, admission, and registration of information for inpatients and outpatients
- Ensure patients have a good understanding of their insurance benefits and answer questions as needed
- Education and Experience
- High School Diploma required. Some college preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Admitting and/or medical insurance preferred
- Skills and Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of insurance and their benefits and admitting forms
- Proficiency in recording admission reservations
- Basic computer knowledge including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
