Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Part-time Universal Banker/Teller to join our team at First Mid Bank & Trust. As a key member of our banking team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and promoting banking products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality service to customers by ensuring timely resolution to their needs and overall satisfaction.
  • Abide by company service standards, including greeting customers and making them feel welcome to First Mid Bank & Trust.
  • Process transactions with accuracy and efficiency, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and issuing cashier's checks.
  • Gain manager assistance with suspicious transactions and obtain approval for transactions outside authorized limits.
  • Adhere to all bank compliance, security, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a cash drawer by performing daily balancing procedures and assist with daily operational branch duties.
  • Open accounts, including checking, savings, safe deposit box, and basic business-related accounts.
  • Perform changes to existing accounts as requested by customers.
  • Proactively look for ways to improve processes that will enhance the customer experience and communicate those ideas to branch management.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct within the guidelines set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Participate in bank promotions, external community events, and promotional activities.
  • May be required to work in other First Mid Banking centers.
Requirements:

Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
Experience:
  • 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience and/or previous experience working in a financial institution preferred.
  • Previous sales experience preferred.
  • Successfully completes required compliance and First Mid training curriculum to be proficient in the basic account opening process.
Skills:
  • Proficient in usage of Microsoft Office and computer applications.
