Position Overview
The Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at LLNL seeks undergraduate, master's, and PhD students or recent graduates for research opportunities focused on global security topics. This role involves a four-month engagement as a Research Associate (RA), where you will contribute to impactful research while advancing your academic and professional aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent research aligned with CGSR's strategic priorities.
- Support ongoing research initiatives through literature reviews, annotated bibliographies, and workshop summaries.
- Provide analytical support for complex research tasks.
- Assist in organizing and executing workshops to facilitate CGSR research efforts.
- Collect and analyze data to support broader research objectives.
- Engage in collaborative research planning and evaluation discussions.
- Participate in relevant seminars and workshops.
- Present research findings to LLNL staff at the conclusion of the assignment.
- Prepare a comprehensive technical report or publication at the end of the assignment.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and business practice policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a graduate degree, or holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated academic or professional success in research areas pertinent to CGSR or LLNL priorities.
- Proven track record of independent research and publication or a well-defined research proposal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
