Job Summary:

The Resident Caregiver will assist residents in all aspects of their daily life, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation, and information needs. This role requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism due to the constant interaction with residents and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Prepare and serve meals, as well as assist with food service
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties
  • Manage resident behavior and provide socialization and activities
  • Assist with orientation and provide information to residents and families
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly; previous dementia experience preferred
  • Certification required according to state regulations; must successfully complete the required Arden Courts' training
Physical Demands:

The Resident Caregiver must be able to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods, as well as push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis. Full use of hands, arms, and legs is required for washing, bathing, dressing, writing, cleaning, and other tasks. Good physical and mental health is essential for this role.
