Job SummaryWe're seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Trauma team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll work closely with trauma surgeons, critical care intensivists, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to critically injured patients.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive assessments of critically injured trauma patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor progress in collaboration with attending physicians.
Conduct bedside procedures such as arterial line insertion, central line insertion, intubation, chest tube placement, suturing, and wound care management.
Coordinate care with trauma surgeons, critical care intensivists, surgery and emergency medicine residents, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
Continuously evaluate patient condition, monitor vital signs, and interpret lab results, diagnostic imaging, and other data to guide treatment decisions.
Provide education and emotional support to patients' families, ensuring they're well-informed about the patient's condition, treatment options, and prognosis.
Maintain detailed and accurate electronic medical records (EMRs) of patient care, including assessments, treatments, interventions, and outcomes.
Serve as a clinical leader through nursing staff education and contribute to the training of students and residents as needed.
Participate in trauma and critical care quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices in trauma care.
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with a strong clinical background in trauma, emergency medicine, surgery, or critical care. A Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant is required, and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar setting is preferred.
Candidates must hold a valid NJ-Advanced Practice Provider - APN and NJ-Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant license, and BLS certification is required.
We offer a per diem schedule, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment is essential for this role.
