Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Liability Claims Specialist to join our team at The Jacobson Group. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for handling complex liability claims, including coverage issues and severe injury claims. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and exercise discretion and judgment in claims handling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate liability claims, evaluate evidence, and make recommendations regarding coverage and liability.
  • Handle complex claims involving damages, coverages, and other liability issues.
  • Negotiate settlements with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders within designated authority.
  • Document claims files and submit regular reports to management.
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and initiate action to recover losses.
  • Complete required training programs to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
  • Provide support to property claims teams during periods of high volume.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in casualty claims adjusting or equivalent experience in the medical or legal field.
  • Broad knowledge of liability coverages, laws, and injuries.
  • Successful completion of the Associate in Claims program is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to travel for training and other business purposes.
