We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Instructor to join our team at the University of Minnesota's Department of Biomedical Engineering. As a Teaching Specialist, you will have the opportunity to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biomedical engineering, develop and provide instruction, and participate in relevant departmental meetings.
Responsibilities- Develop and provide instruction for assigned courses, including developing teaching materials and providing instructions.
- Grade examinations, reports, and assign final grades.
- Prepare class materials and exams.
- Organize course materials and ensure a smooth learning experience for students.
- Perform other duties directly related to the delivery of a course, such as holding office hours and completing semester-end student evaluations of instruction.
- Masters degree in engineering, physics, or a related field is required for appointment as a Teaching Specialist.
- Doctorate in engineering, physics, or a related field is required for appointment as a Lecturer.
- Experience teaching engineering curriculum is highly desired.
