Position Overview:
We are seeking an Information Technology Specialist to provide essential technical support to our users, manage end-user devices, and implement technology solutions in our model homes. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of computer and network operations in a segmented environment, with a strong emphasis on security. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving computer system issues, offering end-user support, and making critical decisions. Additionally, you will play a key role in hardware upgrades, application rollouts, infrastructure improvements, and various IT projects as needed. We are looking for a proactive and efficient professional who can collaborate effectively with IT team members and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to various offices, both locally and out of state, is required (30% – 60%). Occasional weekend work and on-call duties may be necessary.
- Overseeing the maintenance of office equipment, including scanners, fax machines, printers, phones, and computers.
- Executing software upgrades and integrating third-party applications.
- Managing daily operations of the Division IT department.
- Regularly evaluating infrastructure to meet operational needs.
- Enforcing policies regarding computer use, information security, and privacy among employees.
- Ensuring the protection of customer data through encryption and secure storage practices.
- Configuring hardware and software for end users on phones and desktops as required.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and standards for computing equipment.
- Creating user manuals with operational instructions.
- Documenting hardware and software changes in the ticketing system.
- Staying informed through educational workshops, professional publications, and networking opportunities.
- Contributing to team efforts by achieving relevant outcomes.
- Assessing system capabilities by testing compatibility with new programs.
- Engaging in tasks related to Process Improvement, Software Maintenance, Software Testing, Software Performance Tuning, and Laptop/Desktop hardware deployment.
Qualifications for the Technical Support Specialist:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on multitasking and continuous learning.
- Industry certifications and affiliations are beneficial.
- Proficiency in IT, communication, leadership, and management.
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proven experience in maintaining IT structural integrity.
- Essential knowledge of Windows 10 and Apple systems; familiarity with FortiGate is a plus.
- Must pass background checks, possess a valid driver's license, and have insurance.
