Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the West Virginia Pharmacy Solutions Group. As a Pharmacy Dispensing Technician, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide medication and other healthcare products to patients and consumers.
Responsibilities:- Prepare prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist by retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, and mixing medication.
- Make requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacists.
- Receive and maintain inventory of drugs and chemicals and ensure their security.
- Verify that information on the prescription is complete and accurate.
- Print prescription labels and package prescriptions according to Long Term Care policy standards.
- Prepack medications using unit dose sealers.
- Monitor/document prepack product expiration dates and lot numbers appropriately.
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
- Assist in automated compliance packaging dispensing process.
- Assist in Narcotic Room activities to prepare Controlled Substance prescriptions according to Long Term Care Standards and Pharmacy Policy and Procedures.
- Assist in preparing non-sterile compounded products.
- Assist in preparing sterile compounded products after appropriate training.
- Enter medication orders into pharmacy operating system.
- Must be a West Virginia licensed Pharmacy Technician with National Technician Certification.
- Previous Long Term Care pharmacy experience a plus.
- Knowledge of FrameworkLTC a plus.
