About the Role

KWS Seeds LLC. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Control Supervisor to join our team in Tangent, OR. As a key member of our Quality Control Department, you will be responsible for overseeing all quality control/seed testing activities, developing and streamlining our QC processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and cross-train QC employees to work efficiently with QC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify, monitor, and report sub-standard seed quality
  • Responsible for all QC SOPs, including development and implementation
  • Provide QC support to all departments, ensuring seamless integration of quality control processes
  • Stay up-to-date with all processing changes, seed testing procedures, laws, and regulations
  • Design and execute experiments to improve QC SOPs and investigate seed quality issues
  • Responsible for all QC operations/testing, timelines, reporting, and accuracy
  • Manage seasonal staff, including training, scheduling, and periodic review of quality of work through the use of blind controls
  • Conduct annual evaluations of personnel performance
  • Responsible for lab supplies and maintenance of testing equipment
  • Ensure the documentation and calibration of testing equipment
  • Verify test consistency through the use of controls
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Occasionally travel and/or drive on behalf of the business
Requirements and Qualifications
  • BS in Agriculture or related field required
  • QC Supervisor experience required
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good work attendance history
  • Ability to master knowledge of seed testing lab operations and determination of seed quality
  • Proficiency with MS Office and data management
