Position Overview:
Role: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Richmond, VA

About the Facility:
  • The healthcare center consists of two hospitals located in close proximity, providing a range of medical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Manage the ordering, preparation, calibration, storage, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment and other instruments.
  • Utilize radiation detection devices effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in necessary computer operations, including relevant software systems.
  • Ensure accurate billing and verification of physician orders.
  • Maintain departmental records and inventory.
  • Execute decontamination and cleaning procedures within the department.
  • Provide assistance in administrative tasks, including patient interaction.
  • Fulfill ongoing educational requirements to maintain licensure.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Educational Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program is required. Licensure from ARRT-N or CNMT is mandatory, along with ongoing education as required for licensure.
Certifications:
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is also required.
Work Schedule: Full-Time Days, Monday to Friday, with on-call responsibilities.
