About the Staff Accountant Role
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and administrative functions, including routine accounting tasks, daily production and inventory reporting, bank reconciliations, and month-end tasks related to the general ledger and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare daily production reports and record entries in the ERP system.
- Monitor inventory and variance accounts to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Track fixed assets and record monthly depreciation.
- Assist with the month-end close and financial reporting process.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts by preparing and maintaining schedules.
- Collaborate with staff to monitor accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare weekly disbursements and monitor daily receipts.
- Perform general bookkeeping and organize financial forms, documents, and receipts.
- Prepare and file quarterly sales and use tax reports.
- Analyze current procedures and recommend best practices to reduce expenses and increase revenue.
- Cross-train in other administrative positions to fill in as needed.
Requirements:
- Technology proficiency in ERP systems, report writing tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Judgement and decision-making skills to recognize discrepancies and troubleshoot common accounting problems.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills to effectively work with coworkers in a team-oriented environment.
- Interpersonal relationships and communication skills to establish and maintain constructive working relationships.
