About the Staff Accountant Role

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and administrative functions, including routine accounting tasks, daily production and inventory reporting, bank reconciliations, and month-end tasks related to the general ledger and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare daily production reports and record entries in the ERP system.
  • Monitor inventory and variance accounts to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Track fixed assets and record monthly depreciation.
  • Assist with the month-end close and financial reporting process.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts by preparing and maintaining schedules.
  • Collaborate with staff to monitor accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare weekly disbursements and monitor daily receipts.
  • Perform general bookkeeping and organize financial forms, documents, and receipts.
  • Prepare and file quarterly sales and use tax reports.
  • Analyze current procedures and recommend best practices to reduce expenses and increase revenue.
  • Cross-train in other administrative positions to fill in as needed.

Requirements:

  • Technology proficiency in ERP systems, report writing tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Judgement and decision-making skills to recognize discrepancies and troubleshoot common accounting problems.
