CNC Operator Job Description

Coburn's Exclusive is seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for running a variety of machinery to create architectural metal structures. This includes a laser cutter, a press brake, a water jet machine, and other machines that are programmed by our Design team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan daily machining using blueprints, specifications, work orders, orthographic drawings, and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Manage stock inventory and communicate material needs to the CNC department lead.
  • Lift stock to load feeding mechanisms, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Detect and troubleshoot system malfunctions through taking measurements, adjusting controls, reprogramming machines, and closely monitoring grooving, drilling, and cutting.
  • Inspect the work area and machines at the end of each shift to ensure they are prepared for the next shift.
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal protocol and safety regulations.
  • Complete regular preventative maintenance and call for repairs as needed.
  • Communicate with other team members and accurately document daily production operations.

Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, grasp, type, stoop, reach, walk, push, and pull for sustained periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to read, calculate, measure, plan, and compile information.
  • Ability to investigate, organize, explain, and present information.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in English on a daily basis.
  • Ability to make rational decisions.
  • Ability to accept direction and orders from supervisor and others in authority.
  • Ability and willingness to accept and follow through on recommendations for improvement as a result of performance appraisal, monitoring, self-assessment, and daily supervision.

Working Conditions:
  • Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis to local, state, and national destinations.
  • Ability to use your own vehicle for work-related activities when company vehicles are not available.
  • Ability to work and drive during periods of inclement weather.
  • Ability to effectively interact and work cooperatively as a team member with people from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including workshops, offices, warehouses, storage units, box trucks, and public places.
