The Tulare Animal Services Sheltering Facility operates as an open admissions shelter, catering to the needs of the community. The facility is responsible for the humane care and management of stray, injured, and surrendered animals. Our team works diligently to ensure that all animals receive proper medical attention and care during their stay, with the ultimate goal of finding them permanent homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patrols in designated areas to capture and impound unlicensed and stray animals.
- Transport animals to appropriate shelters, ensuring their health and safety during transit.
- Investigate complaints regarding animal nuisances and enforce city regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of animal impounds and citations issued.
- Assist in public education efforts regarding animal care and control.
- Collaborate with local animal rescue organizations to promote adoptions.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of animal care facilities.
- Administer first aid and medical care to animals as needed.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of animal care and control laws and practices.
- Ability to handle animals safely and humanely.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with the public.
- Experience in animal handling or law enforcement is preferred.
