**Job Overview**

The City of Renton Washington is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Recreation Team as Recreation Leaders. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and overseeing recreational programs for toddlers through senior age groups.

**Salary and Benefits**

Hourly rates: $20.29 - $26.00 per hour. Placement at the Recreation Leader 1, 2, or 3 level, and rate of pay, is dependent on years of experience and qualifications. The City of Renton offers a competitive benefits package, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance.

**Job Description**

We are looking for applicants with excellent customer service skills, ability to instill trust through authenticity, respect, and integrity, effective communication skills, and creativity to cultivate innovation. As a Recreation Leader, you will provide support to the Recreation Coordinator and other city staff, lead and instruct participants using excellent citizenship, sportsmanship, and inclusivity.

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, providing attendance and facility reports, attending and supervising program participants during field trips and special events, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and community members.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
  • At least 16 years of age (18 years old for Recreation Leader 2 and 3).
  • Must pass a required background check.
  • Volunteer experience related to recreation is preferred.

For Recreation Leader 2 and 3, valid driver's license and some positions may require successful passing of a required driving record check. Applicants must demonstrate thorough knowledge of assigned recreation programs, activities, and services, as well as safety guidelines and practices.

**Work Environment**

This position requires work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Noise levels are moderately loud, and varied schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends are common.
