Patient Care Technician

Nursing Care Partners are unlicensed staff members who work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care.
As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara, you will provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing team.
- Support the admission and discharge process, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
- Provide basic care, including bathing, ambulating, and changing patients.
- Draw blood and perform other delegated tasks under the supervision of a nurse.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- One of the following certifications: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), or completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
- One year of prior healthcare experience
