Roanoke College is seeking a dedicated Coffee Specialist to enhance our vibrant café environment. The Coffee Specialist will be tasked with delivering exceptional customer service while expertly crafting and serving a variety of specialty beverages.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver outstanding customer service to all patrons, addressing inquiries and fulfilling order requests.
- Adhere to the established beverage preparation protocols set forth by the organization.
- Efficiently prepare and serve coffee drinks, specialty beverages, and food items with precision and speed.
- Process customer payments and provide change as necessary.
- Maintain an accurate cash register and complete all cash-handling responsibilities.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in working swiftly to meet customer needs.
- Prior experience in a coffee shop or barista position.
- Familiarity with specialty coffees and teas.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Quickness and efficiency in drink preparation and service.
This position offers a full-time commitment for 9 months, aligning with the academic calendar.
