Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dietitian 2 to join our team. As a key member of our nutrition services team, you will be responsible for coordinating medical records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert nutrition care to individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate medical records for clinical nutrition, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain annual completion of assessments using the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Attend ISP meetings, entrance, and exit meetings.
  • Complete nutritional assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Make recommendations to the treatment team for the maintenance and improvement of nutritional status.
  • Recommend changes to meal plans to address nutritional concerns.
  • Process diet changes and provide necessary training to individuals and staff.
  • Observe individuals at mealtime, which may involve travel to various service locations.
  • Provide nutrition care instructions to individuals, families, family care providers, food and nutrition staff, and other healthcare providers.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to determine nutritional needs.
  • Schedule and conduct nutrition in-service training/education for house staff.
  • Implement plans for corrective action.
  • Ensure OPWDD regulations are adhered to and overall health and safety of individuals.
  • Regular and proficient computer use, knowledge, and use of EHR system.
Requirements
  • Permanent service as a Dietitian 2 in a New York State agency eligible for transfer.
  • Reachable on the current Dietitian 2 canvas list.
  • Open Competitive: Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition and have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a RD.
  • Maintains current certification in New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist.
