Substation Engineer IV

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer IV to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Power Delivery Services Team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing substation electrical projects for electric utilities at voltages from 12kV up to 500kV.

• Design substation electrical projects using knowledge of digital logic design, AC and DC circuits.
• Work with internal teams and clients to meet project needs and ensure quality control.
• Perform quality control checks on substation physical design projects.
• Read and design substation physical drawings, including one-line drawings, three-line drawings, plan-section drawings, foundation, and grounding drawings.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical projects.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with eight (8+) or more years of related substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure situations.
• Collaborator and leader who can work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-starter who works independently with minimal direction.
• Strong analytical skills and proven problem solver in both team and independent environments.
• High level of computer competency.
• Willingness to travel to project and/or client sites.
