Surgical Instrument Specialist for Sterile Processing Department

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Instrument Specialist to join our Sterile Processing department at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. This is a full-time day shift position that requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate instrumentation ordering, repairs, and management for the sterile processing department and other departments within the hospital.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school graduation or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology course.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the surgical services environment, with at least 3 years in the sterile processing department and 2 years in materials management or operating room experience.
  • Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician from IAHCSMM or CSPD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Surgical Instrument Specialist Certification.
  • Working knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
  • 5 years experience with specialty instrumentation, devices, and equipment.

Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
