Mathematics Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Mathematics Instructor to join our team as a Long-term Substitute Math Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one section of each of the following courses: Algebra II, Analysis of Functions, and Calculus I.

• Teach 45-60 minute classes to 9th-12th grade students.
• Promote and advance the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical well-being of the students during math classes.
• Implement and adapt curriculum using best practices in mathematics instruction, including differentiation to meet the needs of all students.
• Coordinate and collaborate regularly with other classroom teachers about curriculum and students.
• Communicate with parents as needed.
• Maintain accurate records in Schoology.

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in mathematics, secondary education, or a related discipline.
• Math teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level.
• Teaching certification preferred.

• Desire, interest, and enthusiasm for working with high school-aged students.
• A willingness to incorporate social-emotional learning competencies and project-based learning into the subject matter.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all constituent groups - teachers, parents, students, and administrative teams.
• Experience with addressing student behavior.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient at working in a Google Drive environment and confidently learning new technology.
• Ability to work and communicate well with students, families, faculty, and staff within the community.
