About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Construction Project Manager to lead large HVAC Controls construction projects in the New York Metro Market area on customer sites daily. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead large HVAC Controls construction projects valued at $2M or more
  • Work with Owner and contractor sales managers and branch installation manager and teams to provide sales support activities early in the development process
  • Ensure projects are completed accurately, on-time, billed, within budget, and within scope of the contract
  • Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams on assigned projects
  • Develop project schedules and execute according to plan for assigned projects
  • Manage costs, billings, and collections
  • Complete project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client
  • Maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow
  • Review and interpret contract Terms and Conditions
  • Analyze financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems
  • Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to management as required
  • Utilize Microsoft Project to execute and evaluate job progress and risks
  • Manage risks and establish project recovery plans when required
  • Ensure project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements and JCI standards
  • Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques
  • Manage the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned
  • Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors
Requirements
  • Minimum of eight years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry
  • Management experience with projects related to Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems is desired
  • Expectation that PMI/PMP certification will be obtained within 2 years of employment in the position
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
  • Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems
  • Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (excel, word, power point, project), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment
  • Travel will vary on project assignment
  • Able to execute projects of higher project and contract complexity
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
  • Associate's Degree with equivalent work-related experience
