Position Overview:
The Certified Clinical Assistant role is integral to supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting with various medical tasks while ensuring a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers during patient consultations and procedures.
- Collect and document patient medical histories and reasons for visits, effectively communicating this information to the healthcare team.
- Perform laboratory duties, including the collection and processing of specimens such as blood, urine, and cultures, ensuring accurate patient identification and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Conduct drug screenings and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
- Execute in-house clinical procedures, including EKGs, audiometry, pulmonary function tests, and other assessments as required.
- Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation levels.
- Administer vaccinations according to established protocols and maintain proper documentation.
- Carry out general administrative tasks, including filing, answering phone calls, greeting patients, and maintaining office cleanliness.
- Follow up with patients three days post-visit to address any concerns or questions.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and procedural changes.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule. Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the clinic and its patients.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant and/or Phlebotomy Certification is required.
- Strong commitment to patient care and ethical standards.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Position involves standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
