Job Title: Laborer

At Penn Machine Company LLC, we are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting various plant production personnel and performing car repair work involving burning, fitting, grinding, blasting, and painting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist skilled labor in performing car repair work
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic tools, jacks, cutting torches, and forklifts
  • Complete tasks such as changing gaskets, hoses, valves, repairing piping, and pipe fitting
  • Act as a safety watch for tank/hopper car entry
  • Maintain area in a neat and orderly manner and report work hazards
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to demonstrate job-related knowledge of measuring devices such as rules
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of weight, volume, and other units of measurements
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently
  • Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision
  • Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts, including overtime
Working Conditions:
  • Exposed to dirt, fumes, smoke, and heat
  • Work outdoors often and be exposed to the elements
  • Physical effort in lifting and carrying materials and attaching rigging devices
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
