About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team at MEDC: Tribal One. As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site activities during the construction, renovation, or repair of federal buildings and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Develop and maintain construction schedules, coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors, and ensure that all project phases are completed on time and within budget.
  • Site Management: Oversee daily operations on the construction site, ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards, and conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Manage and supervise construction crews and subcontractors, assign tasks and responsibilities to workers, and provide training and guidance to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local building codes and regulations, maintain accurate records of construction activities, progress, and any issues, and prepare and submit reports to project managers and government agencies as required.
  • Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries, conduct regular safety meetings and inspections, and address and resolve any safety concerns promptly.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure quality standards are met, resolve any construction issues or defects in a timely manner, and ensure all work is completed according to the contract specifications and approved designs.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the government and contractors, facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders, and handle any disputes or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with budget constraints, approve purchase orders and invoices for materials and services, and identify and address any potential cost overruns.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, EM, USACE CQM certification, and CPR/1st Aid certification are required.
  • Experience: Successful prior track record as a Superintendent on Federal government projects for a minimum of five (5) years is required.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, including problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Working Environment

This position requires primarily working on construction sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and physical hazards. Travel may be required to various project locations, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines is essential.
