Helicopter Pilot

As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and Air Methods' policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, ensuring the well-being of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks, verifying the aircraft's airworthiness and completing the Daily Flight Log.
- Exercise final authority regarding aircraft operations and passenger safety.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of aircraft and medical systems, ensuring the medical flight team is familiar and comfortable with the medical interior and systems.
- Complete required documentation and participate in Air Methods' meetings, activities, and community outreach.
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Program requirements, including 2500 total flight hours, 1000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time, and 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time.
- First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
