Payroll Administrator Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multi-state payroll operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Manage payroll and HRIS system maintenance
- Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple entities and states
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain payroll procedures to ensure smooth processing
- Keep track of employee leave balances, benefit payroll deductions, garnishments, and 3rd party sick pay
- Develop and distribute payroll reports, including taxes, payroll registers, general ledger, overtime, and retirement contributions
- Handle state withholding registration and maintenance
- Review and distribute quarterly payroll tax reports as needed
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations; respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies
- Stay informed about new payroll legislation, advising management on necessary changes
- Monitor and verify timesheets, time-off requests, and leave balances for accurate payroll submission
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience, or equivalent work experience in a payroll environment
- Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws, including payroll taxes, withholding, deductions, and garnishments
- Hands-on experience in payroll and/or HR environments
- Proficiency in payroll systems (experience with Paylocity is preferred)
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, procedures, and tax reporting
