Job Title: Deputy Sheriff

The City of Lynchburg, VA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Deputy Sheriff. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will play a vital role in maintaining law and order in our community, ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens.

Responsibilities:
  • Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share information and resources
  • Provide support and assistance to the community through educational programs and outreach
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license
  • Must have a current Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Certification in Basic Jailer or Law Enforcement
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
