Main Function: As a skilled Plumber, you will be responsible for building, installing, and maintaining various utility systems, including steam, gas, water, compressed air, oxygen, vacuum, refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems. You will ensure these systems are functioning properly to prevent hazards to personal safety and maintain a safe working environment.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lay out, install, and maintain all water carrying or drainage piping, fittings, and fixtures, and complete work reports as directed.
- Maintain valves to regulate proper flow and prescribed temperature.
- Lubricate, according to schedule, motors, compressors, and other moving parts; store in approved covered containers all flammable materials.
- Inspect air intake sources, screens, and filters, as applies to assigned equipment with special attention to "high risk" areas.
- Responsible for changing filters as scheduled on HVAC systems in Hospital and medical office buildings.
- Inspect motors, belts, and valves for proper alignment, working condition, and unusual wear; correct and/or report any malfunction.
- Read thermometers and gauges; record readings in log.
- Maintain exhaust systems, fan motors, dampers, ductwork, and insulation, regulating air flow as designed.
- Responsible for welding, brazing, or cutting of stainless steel, aluminum, structural steel, cast iron, and dissimilar metals.
- Responsible for fabricating new and/or repairing existing steel frames, stainless steel dietary equipment, etc.
- Use fire fighting equipment in emergencies; keep all exits and stairways free from obstructions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including proper tools maintained in a clean and fully operational state of repair.
- Promote and foster the mission and philosophy of Arnot Health during performance of job duties and community activities.
- Actively support and participate in Arnot Health's Continuous Quality Improvement endeavors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
