NICU Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NICU Nurse to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center.

Job Summary

The NICU Nurse will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care to patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory distress, cardiac issues, and neurological disorders.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in code blue and other emergency situations, demonstrating expertise and composure under pressure.
  • Document patient progress, medication administration, and other relevant information in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in good standing.
  • Minimum of one year of NICU experience, with a strong focus on critical care and patient safety.
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
