The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
* Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
* Supervise students to protect them from conditions harmful to learning and/or to their mental and/or physical health and/or safety
* Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required
* Diagnose the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and seek the assistance of District specialists as required
* Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct
* Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
* Eligibility for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area
* Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong time management skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
* Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
* Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc.
* Ability to manage students
* Ability to manage multiple tasks
