We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Coach to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Boston. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for leading sports classes for children and adults of all ages, promoting a fun and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and deliver sports programs that emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, and the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honest, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Coaching and Instruction: Provide clear instruction, feedback, and positive motivation to participants, ensuring they meet their full potential.
- Group Management: Manage small and large groups of children and/or adults, maintaining a safe and engaging environment.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners, sharing successes, challenges, and information in a professional and respectful manner.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for attendance and ensure policies and procedures for attendance, participation, and safety are followed at all times.
- Experience: One to two years of related experience, such as coaching or volunteering, is preferred.
- Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications, as well as Child Abuse Prevention Training, are required.
- Skills: Excellent relationship building, conflict resolution, coaching, and organizational skills are essential.
- Education: A degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Personal Qualities: A passion for children and sports, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
