Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Design:
- Develop and revise curriculum materials for medical assistant training, ensuring alignment with industry standards and accreditation criteria.
- Create lesson plans, presentations, and educational resources to support effective learning outcomes.
- Instructional Delivery:
- Facilitate lectures, demonstrations, and interactive learning experiences covering medical terminology, anatomy, disease processes, and pharmacology.
- Utilize multimedia tools and visual aids to enrich the educational experience.
- Practical Skills Training:
- Offer hands-on instruction in clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs, conducting EKGs, administering injections, assisting in minor surgical procedures, and performing laboratory tests.
- Oversee and mentor students as they practice clinical skills in both simulated and real-world healthcare settings.
- Evaluation and Feedback:
- Conduct quizzes, examinations, and practical assessments to gauge students' understanding and proficiency in both clinical and administrative competencies.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to enhance student performance.
- Professional Growth:
- Remain informed about current trends, practices, and regulations in the medical assisting field.
- Participate in workshops, conferences, and continuing education opportunities to improve teaching effectiveness and maintain expertise in medical assisting.
- Administrative Training:
- Educate students on administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, medical record management, billing and coding, and insurance processing.
- Introduce students to electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification is required.
- Experience in teaching or training within healthcare education is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative procedures relevant to medical assisting.
- Hourly pay rate is $30.
- Worker's compensation coverage.
