Job Summary

The Speech/Language Therapist will be responsible for evaluating students' speech and language abilities and providing ongoing therapeutic intervention. This role involves working closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that students receive the necessary support to meet their IEP requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate students' speech and language abilities and develop individualized plans for therapeutic intervention.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and administrators on strategies for supporting students with communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure that students receive the necessary support at home.
  • Design and implement IEPs for students with communication disorders.
  • Monitor and record student progress, making adjustments to therapeutic plans as needed.

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Possess a valid California credential authorizing service as a Speech/Language Therapist.
  • Demonstrate competence in communicating effectively with children and parents, staff members, and representatives of other agencies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various school and community resources associated with a broad array of special education services.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to stand, sit, and move about for sustained periods. The Speech/Language Therapist may be required to report to multiple worksites in a given day or during the work week. Effective communication skills are essential for this role, as the Speech/Language Therapist will be working with students, parents, and staff members on a regular basis.
