Chief Medical Officer

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a key leadership position at Heartland Community Health Clinic, responsible for overseeing the clinical services and operations of the organization. The CMO will provide strategic direction and guidance to the clinical team, ensuring that high-quality patient care is delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the clinical team, including physicians, mid-levels, and medical staff.
- Oversee the medical records program and ensure that it is in compliance with legal and accreditation guidelines.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with local healthcare organizations, medical societies, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Quality and Compliance to ensure that the clinic is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the clinical team, including interviewing, hiring, and supervising permanent and temporary clinicians.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that the clinic is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the clinical team, including educating and training staff on quality improvement activities and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources Department to ensure that the clinic is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree from a school accredited by ACMGE.
- Three to five years supervisory experience in management of a group practice or Federally Qualified Health Center and ten years practice experience.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.
- Skills in communicating effectively with patients and their families.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare clinicians.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills required.
- Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required.
- FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance obtainable.
- Ability to travel to all locations and to meetings outside the service area; flexible hours required.
$240,000-340,000 per year
