Job Summary

The Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, Inc. is seeking a skilled Server to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members and their guests in our dining establishment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that our members receive the highest standard of service while visiting our dining establishment(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Takes food and beverage orders, carries trays, and serves food and drinks.
  • Clears and cleans tables.
  • Performs light food preparation and has familiarity with basic cooking terminology and skills.
  • Prepares takeout orders and wraps menu items.
  • Performs opening station setup and prep work.
  • Provides attention to members and their guests as soon as possible after being seated.
  • Distributes menus and wine lists, with knowledge of food and wine pairing.
  • Pours and refills wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the meal.
  • Cleans all assigned work areas in the front and back of the house.
  • Advises supervisors of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, and silverware.
  • Ensures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Consistently follows sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene.
  • Places orders with the kitchen and informs cooks about any special cooking instructions.
  • Enters orders in the point-of-sale system and presents the bill.
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties.
  • Assists with special events as needed.
  • Assists in training other food and beverage staff as needed.
  • Attends staff meetings, including pre-serve sessions and in-service training.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and complies with uniform and dress codes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by a manager.
Requirements
  • Must be able to reach, push, pull, bend, and stoop.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion activities, such as walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to comfortably lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 pounds and stand on feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly in English.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent walking with some standing at times.
  • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs; occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Meet the minimum age requirements for this position.
  • Three to six months of customer service-related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Within 90 days of hire, must obtain and maintain current certification(s) in ANSI Florida Food Handler and Florida Responsible Vendor Server Training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of work experience in a full-service restaurant or hospitality-related industry.
  • Experience in a fine dining/upscale restaurant atmosphere.
