Security Officer

Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is seeking a Security Officer to provide a safe and welcoming environment for visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the museum's collection and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to prevent and detect security breaches.
- Respond to emergency situations and incidents, including medical emergencies and natural disasters.
- Communicate effectively with visitors, staff, and security personnel to ensure a positive experience.
- Collaborate with security teams to develop and implement security protocols and procedures.
- Complete daily logs and reports as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- New York State Guard certificate required; CPR/AED/FSD and/or Fire Guard certification preferred.
- Minimum one year of security or customer service experience.
- Prior museum or art-related experience a plus, but not required.
- Fluency in languages in addition to English preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and provide excellent customer service in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented and able to walk/stand for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs and stoop/kneel to perform security duties.
- Ability to work weekends, including five-day workweeks with weekend days.
- Competitive hourly rate of $24.70.
