At Bloomberg, we are looking for a highly skilled Data Management Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Portfolio Data team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our data quality strategy and quality assurance practices.

The Portfolios Data team is responsible for the data management of over 110,000 Mutual Funds and ETF portfolios, as well as public portfolios such as government investment pools, Collateralized Loan Obligation and Institutional Investment Manager investment portfolios. You will work closely with subject matter authorities in Data, as well as colleagues in Product and Engineering, on roadmaps to improve data quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, refining, and implementing the strategy for how to achieve best-in-class data quality for the Portfolio Holdings data product.
  • Performing data profiling and applying statistical methods to support data quality measurements.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions.

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong understanding of data quality as a domain of data management and proven ability to conduct data profiling and data analysis. Experience working with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark for analytical workflows and data on a terabyte scale is a plus.
