About The Job

The Trustees of Reservations, a premier conservation organization, is seeking an experienced Environmental Education Program Coordinator to join our team at Appleton Farms in Ipswich, MA. As a Seasonal Lead Educator for Agricultural Conservation, you will play a key role in developing and implementing educational programs that promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and agricultural practices.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and lead educational activities for children aged 4-14, focusing on farm-based education, food systems, and ecological stewardship.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop curriculum and materials, ensuring alignment with The Trustees' conservation goals.
  • Support camp educators/counselors in activity development and group management assistance.
  • Provide leadership in the use of the Learning Garden and Education Barnyard, promoting hands-on learning experiences.
  • Mentor counselors in developing daily and weekly schedules, ensuring a seamless camp experience.
  • Communicate with camper parents regarding basic camper information and address questions as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental or agricultural education, the sciences, education, or other relevant course of study.
  • Demonstrated skills in environmental education, curriculum development, and outdoor education.
  • Knowledge of or interest in farm-based education, food systems, and sustainability.
  • Experience working with children aged 4-14, preferably in an outdoor education setting.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
