Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the ordering and collection of medications from the pharmacy, ensuring all carts are stocked with necessary pharmaceuticals while maintaining awareness of expiration dates and proper disposal of outdated items.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all designated areas daily, including the stocking and replacement of anesthesia equipment and supplies as required.
  • Facilitate efficient room turnover to minimize downtime between surgical procedures.
  • Conduct thorough decontamination of surgical areas post-procedure, including the replacement of anesthesia circuits and suction systems, and changing soda lime canisters as necessary.
  • Prepare and set up specialized monitoring lines for surgical cases.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and upkeep of anesthesia machines in collaboration with Biomedical personnel.
  • Prepare and transport equipment for critically ill patients with precision.
  • Maintain specialty carts within the department to ensure readiness.
  • Document daily refrigerator temperature logs in the Main OR, Day Surgery, and OB workrooms.
  • Follow guidelines from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) regarding hazardous materials and supplies.
  • Exhibit knowledge of and adherence to the standards set forth by the Joint Commission.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
