Patient Monitor Technician

The Remote Patient Monitoring Technician will primarily function as remote monitoring for patients requiring continuous observation. This role is responsible for observing and reporting high-risk behaviors that may interrupt medically necessary therapies, as well as patient safety and/or perceived changes in the patient's condition to appropriate healthcare team members.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain visual observation of assigned patients at all times and immediately summon nursing staff if patient requires assistance.
- Demonstrate understanding and proficiency with the Remote Patient Monitoring Software System.
- Participate in report with on-coming and departing staff members, reviewing pertinent information and behaviors.
- Provide patients with explanations as necessary, but do not counsel or provide opinions or judgment.
- Provide on-site staff with information in a timely fashion when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others.
- Participate in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues, assuring patient environment is safe.
- Maintain patient dignity and privacy.
- Demonstrate safe workplace practices and attitudes, following safety rules, and participating in organizational and department safety programs.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with all other healthcare staff and providers, patient, and patient's family members to ensure an excellent patient experience.
- Responsible to document in patient EMR at a regular cadence per department policies/procedures.
- HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
- 1 year experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Ability to hear, verbally redirect, and see alarms and digital read-outs.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations.
