Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide medical care for Active-Duty military heroes, their family members, and retirees in the Inpatient Oncology/Hematology Unit. The LPN will work in a fast-paced environment, providing direct patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign checks, medication administration, and wound care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Monitor patient's condition and report any changes or concerns to the registered nurse or physician.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures, such as lumbar punctures and colposcopies.
- Perform laboratory tests, such as checking urine for sugar and stool for blood.
- Prepare patients for tests, examinations, and treatments.
- Collect and label specimens for laboratory examination.
- Transport patients to and from other areas of the facility.
- Assist with individual, group, and family health instruction.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an LPN or LVN.
- U.S. Citizen (for access to Government computer systems).
- BLS is required.
