Position Overview:
The selected candidate will primarily participate in clinical practice and educational initiatives, ensuring a suitable balance between administrative responsibilities and scholarly pursuits.

Responsibilities include instructing medical students and residents in an academic or administrative capacity within the Family Medicine Department.

Essential administrative tasks will involve contributing to departmental decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties encompass teaching and collaborating with other departments as necessary, providing professional and personal guidance to medical students, preparing and delivering relevant lectures and seminars, and offering direct patient care through the department's medical service.

Overall supervision will be provided by the Chair of the Family Medicine Department at Upstate University Hospital.


Clinical and Educational Activities:

The role anticipates a clinical focus of 80%, including on-call duties, clinical care, and external clinical commitments; alongside 20% dedicated to educating residents and medical students, emphasizing the comprehensive scope of Family Medicine.

Engage in curriculum development and assess the performance of residents and medical students.

Maintain and update lecture series and instructional materials necessary for resident didactics or medical student clinical skills and case studies.

Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of the Family Medicine Department.

Required Qualifications:
MD/DO in Family Medicine, valid NYS license, board certification

Preferred Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in an outpatient Family Medicine setting is preferred.

Work Schedule:
Typically Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some Saturday mornings and occasional early morning or evening meetings.

Compensation:
Salary is determined based on qualifications.
