Design and Develop Launch Facility Systems

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Test & Flight Operations team at Blue Origin. This role will provide centralized support to business units with a focus on the design, build, and maintenance of ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations.

In this position, you will perform the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of systems associated with space vehicle launch facilities. This includes high-pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems. Your dedication and attention to detail will directly impact the history of space exploration.

Responsibilities:
  • Design launch pad, test stand, and other facility piping systems supporting cryogenic and gaseous pneumatic systems
  • Perform fluid and structural analysis of new or modified designs
  • Select components and collaborate on system safety and process hazards analysis
  • Guide creation of models and drawings of designs
  • Perform system and component-level analyses and document results
  • Draft and review specifications and statements of work
  • Draft and review operational procedures
  • Coordinate with suppliers on costs, schedule, and technical design requirements
  • Oversee fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified fluid systems
  • Provide input on cost, schedule, and technical requirements to internal customers
