Job Summary:

As a Creel Survey Intern with the Arizona Game and Fish Department, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fisheries management techniques and aquatic best management practices. This internship is an excellent way to develop your skills in data collection and organization, logistical planning of fieldwork, and maintenance/repair of field gear.

Job Duties:
  • Conduct comprehensive angler creel surveys at Alamo Lake, Arizona, interviewing anglers to obtain catch, harvest, knowledge of aquatic invasive species, and human dimensions information.
  • Identify and measure harvested fish, conduct counts of anglers at access points, shorelines, and record data.
  • Enter data and assist with sport fish education and fish surveys on various waters in the region.
  • Opportunities to assist other programs within the Region with other projects may also be available.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a curriculum leading towards a Bachelor's or higher level degree on a full time basis.
  • Pursuing a major in Wildlife Biology or a closely related field applicable to the internship opportunity.
  • Ability to start the position by 1/6/25.
  • Valid driver's license (free of restrictions, if applicable).
