We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Art Specialist to join our team at the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges. As a key member of our summer camp staff, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a variety of art programs for children aged 3rd-5th grade.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement engaging art activities that promote creativity, self-expression, and skill-building.
- Supervise and assist campers in their art projects, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other camp staff to ensure a cohesive and high-quality camp experience.
- Manage art supplies and materials, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible.
- Participate in pre-camp trainings and meetings to ensure a smooth start to the summer season.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in education, art, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience working with children in an art or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
This is a seasonal position, working approximately 9 weeks from June 26th to August 25th. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with hours to be determined. A sign-on bonus may be available.
