Heavy Duty Diesel Repair Specialist

At US Foods, Inc., we are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Repair Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet vehicles.
The estimated salary for this role is $32.05 per hour, with opportunities for overtime compensation and a retention bonus. Job DescriptionThis is a hands-on position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with co-workers and drivers. You must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards
- Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability
- Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines
- Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
- SUCCESSFULLY DEMONSTRATED INDEPENDENT ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS
- Prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs
- A willingness to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
