Role Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care aimed at ensuring patient comfort and health. Key duties include:
- Preparing medical equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Administering prescribed medications and performing wound care, including dressing changes and monitoring vital signs.
- Maintaining accurate records of patient care, conditions, and progress.
- Participating actively in patient care planning and implementation as a primary or associate nurse.
- Providing leadership and guidance to support staff within the department.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is a leading acute care medical facility, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and surgical services, particularly in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. Our facility is recognized as a top emergency center and is the only Level II Trauma Center in the region.
Our state-of-the-art campus includes:
- An advanced Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab and surgical suites.
- A teaching facility affiliated with a prestigious medical school.
- Accreditations as a Chest Pain Center and a Joint Commission Stroke Team.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: One year of nursing experience.
- Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification required upon hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain ACLS by the end of clinical orientation.
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- De-escalation training required within 90 days of hire.
- TNCC certification required within 6 weeks for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain TNCC within 18 months.
- PALS certification required upon hire for experienced RNs; new graduates must obtain PALS by the end of clinical orientation.
Work Schedule:
This position is full-time.
