Key Responsibilities and QualificationsEssential Duties
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients.
- Confirm prescribed treatment doses and verify treatment fields and angles.
- Utilize protective devices to safeguard healthy tissue during procedures.
- Ensure patient positioning for accurate treatment delivery, maintaining communication throughout.
- Monitor patients for any unusual reactions and report findings to the radiation oncologist.
- Document treatment details in patient medical records.
- Provide verification imaging for each patient treated.
- Review treatment records regularly for accuracy.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment processes.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate from an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
- Certification in Radiation Therapy is required.
Licensure
- ARRT Board certification and active participation in a professional society are required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
