Role Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all functions within the unit during designated shifts. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures, serving as a resource for staff and embodying the organization's vision and values to foster exceptional patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Oncology nurses are specialists in providing compassionate care to cancer patients. They monitor post-operative patients, administer chemotherapy, and assist patients in accessing necessary resources to support their journey.

About this unit:

  • Monday to Friday schedule with opportunities for cross-training across departments.

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Facilitating admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Participating in the ongoing evaluation of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
  • Working with subject matter experts to cultivate a teamwork-oriented environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
  • Upholding a patient-first philosophy and engaging in service recovery as needed.
  • Supporting initiatives to improve staff engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Assisting in the recruitment, training, and development of new staff, and ensuring compliance with personnel policies.
  • Managing staff scheduling and labor management in accordance with patient care needs.
  • Overseeing inventory control and supply management.
Required Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • ONS Chemotherapy Provider certification.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) designation.
  • Valid Registered Nurse license.
  • Nursing diploma or degree.
